The Argentina Football Fan Club, Kolkata amazed the city with a unique initiative by constructing a replica of Messi’s Miami home, inside which they created a dedicated museum. The museum showcases replicas of the Golden Ball and Golden Boot, Messi’s trophies, the FIFA World Cup, a statue of the footballer, and a giant screen displaying iconic moments from his illustrious career.
In a first-of-its-kind celebration, the Argentina Football Fan Club merged their passion for football with literature, setting a unique precedent by pairing poetry with the beautiful game. The poem “Dhruvotara,” written by poet Sayani Bandyopadhyay and dedicated to Lionel Messi, has been given a special and permanent place in the museum.
Club organizers stated that, for the first time, two of Bengal’s greatest passions—poetry and football—have come together in such a meaningful way, marking a different kind of emotional tribute to Messi’s arrival. Organizers Mr. Ujjwal Saha and Mr. Dipanjan Ghosh shared that Sayani Bandyopadhyay’s poem, written in simple yet deeply soul-stirring language, has touched the hearts of everyone present.
To honor her contribution, the club felicitated Sayani Bandyopadhyay with a sash and gifts featuring Messi’s image. Speaking at the event, the poet expressed that poetry is the best medium for her to express emotions. She added that football itself is emotion, just like poetry, and described “Dhruvotara” as her poetic tribute to Lionel Messi.
