The Kolkata International Foundation for Arts, Literature, and Culture (KIFALC) has successfully concluded the 2nd edition of its Short Film Festival, held on November 29th and 30th from 4 PM onward. Curated by acclaimed filmmaker Indranil Sarkar, the two-day celebration of cinema brought forward bold creative voices and reflected the rising momentum of independent filmmaking in Kolkata.
This year’s festival opened on an inspiring note as Prof. Sanjay Mukherjee inaugurated the event, marking the commencement of a cinematic journey filled with imagination, expression, and storytelling excellence.
The festival featured a meticulously chosen selection of fourteen short films, each contributing a distinct artistic identity. From realism to experimental narratives, from emotional journeys to sharp social reflections, every screening invited the audience to see the world through a new lens. The thoughtful curation ensured a powerful cinematic experience that informed, inspired, and resonated deeply with viewers.
Beyond screenings, the festival also became a meaningful hub for filmmakers, film students, critics, and enthusiasts—creating an atmosphere of dialogue, learning, and shared passion.
