From his earliest memories, Rtn AKS Dr. K. Srinivasan has carried with him a deep connection to the living world around him. Growing up in the fertile Kaveri region of Srirangam, he recalls how every household would place bowls of food and water on their terraces for birds, a gesture of care that is now fading away. He remembers the Kaveri waters alive with fish, and how many of those species have disappeared due to pollution.
