Over 12 years ago 32 families, lost everything overnight when their building—deeme ,dilapidated and dangerous,—was ,mercilessly demolished by the Municipal Authority, Without alternate accommodation or notice, these families were left homeless their lives turned upside down.
But amidst the rubble, one man stood tall Mr. Vijay Rajani founder of Shresth Lifestyle Infra Developers Pvt. Ltd. With no legal obligation but every moral one he stepped forward to help taking these families under his wing. He paid their deposits, arranged rental homes and most incredibly, has continued to pay their rent for more than 12 years,
The building that was torn down was taken up by Mr. Rajani for redevelopment with the aim to give these 32 families a permanent home once again. But tragically the same Municipal Authority that demolished the building has since denied him redevelopment permissions dragging him from pillar to post, with red tape and bureaucratic delays.
Yet in the face of 12 years of silence, struggle, and injustice, Mr. Rajani has never walked away from those families. Instead, he walked away from his own comforts:
* From living in his own home, he now lives in a rented house.
* From traveling in a chauffeur-driven luxury car, he now commutes in local trains.
* From a position of success, he now survives by borrowing and even begging from his investor, Relatives and Friends, just to make sure that not a single one of those 32 families is displaced again.
This is not just a developer's story.
This is the story of a human being who put others’ shelter above his own, who gave up a life of comfort to uphold a promise, and who continues to stand strong with dignity and resolve—even when the system stands against him.
